The Q300 PTA would like to share the following resources with parents/caregivers of prospective children for Q300 in 2020-2021.
- Connect with current Q300 parents
We know you may have questions regarding your decision in choosing the best school for your child. Send us a short email to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com with the best contact info and your question(s). We connect you to another parent who can respond to your questions.
- The Parent’s Perspective on Citywide G&T Education
The Parents’ Alliance for Citywide Education is hosting a virtual event for parents/caregivers who are considering a citywide G&T school at 5:00pm on Tuesday, May 5, 2020. See https://citywideschools.wordpress.com for more info.
Teacher Appreciation Week (Mon, May 4, 2020 – Fri, May 8, 2020) is coming up! One of the things we would like to do is send notes of appreciation to our teachers and staff on Padlet and share them with them.
Padlet is an intuitive interactive tool where anyone can drop a note or message (or even drawing, photo, video etc..) onto a virtual bulletin board. Because of the size and scope of our school, we have created different padlets for different classes/teachers. We ask that you find the ones to which you directly want to contribute.

Join us for another Q300-hosted tournament this school year. With No Score and Unrated sections included, it’s a perfect format for those students who have had a positive taste of chess in curriculum to make their first tournament splash amongst familiar faces in a ‘home field’ setting of mostly beginners.

- Place: Q300 Lower Divison (28-37 29th St, Queens, NY 11102)

OR, skip the registration and just come on by. It’s also just a casual Q300 bonding event if curious students/parents want to get a feel for the environment, ask questions, play some pickup chess – snacks, drinks, pizza, positive energy and good people. The physical set up is wide open, parents mingle, students/siblings have fun goldfish-grazing and hanging out between games.
The final Q300-hosted tournament will be on Sunday May 3, so this may also be a great opportunity to do some reconnaissance if your child is still learning chess in curriculum this semester, and might be en route to a May tournament plunge.
